Azeri Genocide committed by Armenians in karabakh

Azeri Genocide committed by Armenians on 26th February 1992

The only pain, which is more intolerable than the pain of soul, is the pain of a mother's heart. It's the top of human pain, the maximum of misfortune.
There is a trustworthy scientific fact: when a man was being punished with birch, the bloody strips appeared both on the back of the punished man and his mother, watching the torture of her son. And what was the pain of Khojaly woman like, whose son was beheaded like a sheep as a sacrifice to Armenian soldier in front of her eyes? This
new Armenian tradition is officially known. There are also some old "traditions" of Neanderthal Armenians, which they used in Khojaly. For example, raping of children. The Israel journalist Lukimson wrote that Armenian beasts raped a 4-year old girl, her elder sister and their mother. Scalping of alive and dead people is also practiced, with the aim of demonstration to relatives and getting award for "military service"...
An Armenian bandit-gorilla took away from her mother a two year old girl showing him her little fist, and threw her alive into the fire... There had been wars in the history, cities had been invaded, people died. But Khojaly is different, it's not a war, it's villainy, the Armenian evil. It can be only compared with the previous Armenian actions-in Van, Erzurum, Kars, Bitlis, Kilikia, Sadarak, Nakhchivan, Baki, and Shemakha...
You can hardly imagine the more armed are the Armenians and the less defended their enemy, the more merciless and dreadful the Armenians are.

The crowd of frightened people, running away from armed Neanderthals...The children are crying, falling and hurting badly their knees and heads, as there is no road, there are rocky mountains and icy ground covered with snow that dark winter night.
Samed Talibov, 62, frost-bitten legs:
"...Everything was burning in the town...People in horror were running in the darkness. About 120-130 people and me ran to the Kyatuk wood. The most people were bare feet, sleepy, having just jumped from their beds"
Minesh Aliyeva, 50, bullet-wounded hand:
"...We were wandering about the forest, falling into the deep snow..."

Sobbing woman are dragging their children after themselves, the old, weak, wounded men being backwards try to help others, - hurry up, hurry up: they are hardly able to drag legs along, they are falling down, trying to stand up, somebody gives them hand powerless men help more powerless.
Oh! Where are you the greatest artist of all the times? Goya, Vereshagina, Delakura? None of you have painted, none of you! Have you ever seen such a thing? Could you imagine? Daly himself with his great imagination would not be able imagine this picture, he couldn't even find a name for it. Is it a brutality? Is it a horror or cruelty? No, it is the genocide. It is impossible to imagine. One must see it; you must be there, to run in this stream of madness from death to more terrible death.
Sona Aliyeva. Her legs were got frostbitten. The toes were amputated. She had hidden in the forest for 12 days.
"Armenians wounded her husband in Khojaly. He could not and did not want to go with us. But we helped him, dragged him to the forest for three days. He was racked with pain, asked to drink. I gave him snow, but he wanted water. When he died, he said to take the passport and money out of his pocket. He died and I couldn't do it".
Having left the frostbitten corpse and those who died of wounds and wounded, all adults and children in snowy forest at last the people crawl out of the forest to the flat place.
Have we really survived? Oh, no!
Yavar Aliyev, 7 years, bullet wound in hand and chest.
"When the shooting began we went down into the neighbors basement. Then we ran to the forest."
Yavar`s mother, Naciba Aliyeva.
"There were 40 people with us. We tried to escape. Near the bridge there were about 50-armed men in the uniform of OMON (special police detachment). They called us in Azeri, we became glad and ran towards them and only then realized that they began shooting us. From 40 people only 14 remained alive".

When the whole crowd of refugees came to the first Armenian settlement, village Kyatuk, exactly for the general's estimate began the first stage of "operation" shooting from directions.
Khumar Salimova, 19 years, splinter wounds in shoulder and in face.
"We didn't know what to do and where to run. We went towards the mountain Kyatuk. Before we reached Kyatuk Mountain more than one hundred people had been left dead on the ground killed by the enemy's bullets. Splinters of "Alazan" killed the women running near me and I was wounded"

There, near the village "Nakhichevanik" were killed and taken at the prisoner all people. But not everybody! Some of them could break through this special line of ambush. Armenians have provided for this also. The people who broke through met the third fire line near Gulabli and Armenians caught about 200 people from Khojaly. Armenians met the another group from Khojaly not far from the Azerbaijanian's fighter's trench near Shelli

The USA's Congress called the terrible carnage in Khojaly "The tragedy of 1992", especially for the brutality and atrocities committed by Armenians. At that time Armenians killed there about thousand Azerbaijanians. However by then 100 thousands of people were killed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There were atrocities in Bosnia too, but Armenian's atrocities were much terribly. The conclusion of decision American's Congress' was based upon this.
There are some examples from the hundreds:
  • Aslanov Ingilab, the citizen of Khojaly. Gouged out his eyes, cut the sexual organs and killed.
  • Mamadova Tamara. With bullet wound was brought to the Armenian's public, gouged out her eyes with screwdriver under the Armenian's yelling. Then cut her bosoms.
  • Kerimov Samray, the citizen of Khojaly.The corpse was founded with gouged out his eyes and with the bottle in the anus.
Many people were burnt alive, especially the soldiers of Azerbaijan Army and Meskheti's Turks, including Huseinov Shakir, Imani Agaev, Mamedov Saray, Radjabov Djabrail-the soldiers of Azerbaijan Army.
Hands and legs were banded with the wire of Farzalieva Djakhan and poured over her petrol and burnt
I want to inform you with the results of the medical examination only 181 corpses, which were taken from Khojaly to Agdam.
According to the distribution of injuries:
with bullet-151;
splinter-20;
with blunt instruments-10.

According to the places of injuries disposition;
head sphere-40,
chest-74,
stomach-17;
hands and legs-11.

On 3 frizzed hands and legs;
33-torment - were taken off bosoms, noses, ears, shooting into the sexual organs of women, gouged out eyes, broken teeth, cut of sexual organs of men.

31-were dead by different methods-from bullet's wound, from the injuries of blunt instruments, from cutting and pickling instruments, and so on.13 had-burning on surface body, charred.
10 had-with bullet and splinter wounds;
established also traces of military technical equipment on their body.

NowYou know what's the problem in the settlement of Karabakh conflict: the hate of Armenians against Turks. They did more terrible carnages than Khojaly at different places where the innocent Turks met them. Fall, 1987A raped old aged woman found with cut bossoms and killed in Kazakh, 2 years before the starting the war in Karabakh. A man found with cut sexual organs, gouged eyes and killed at the same place a month later

Mushfig ALIMAMEDOV, the resident of Khodjaly.

Escaping from the town he was injured and had been left to lie on the snow for 2 days: ...We had guns: machine-guns, rifles, shotguns. We didn't have any ammunition or food. We were exhausted by a long-term blockade. On February 25 Armenians started shooting at midnight, armed forces arid vehicles launched the attack. First they captured the airport and burnt it down. They didn't spare anyone, either old-age people and women or children. Many people were burned alive in their homes, especially near the airport. An awful smell of burned meet haunts me even now... Most of town-defenders were killed in action. The survivors were trying to escape in the woods on the way to the village of Shelli to break through to Agdam. They were ambushed near the Armenian village of Nakhichevanik on the way to Agdam. Many people were killed in the ambush near the village. The director of the airport Alif Hadjiyev was killed here. He was there to rescue women. He was the one to have organized the efficient work of the airport. Armenians had already promised the award for his life before.

MINESH ALIYEVA, 50, the resident of Khodjaly, with a bullet wound in the arm.

...We wandered along the woods falling through the deep snow. When we were crossing the road a bullet lodged in my arm. I fell down and couldn't get up. A very intensive shooting started from the wood and shelters. Alif grabbed me and started pulling to the rear of the road. Then he rushed towards the bushes to hide and .started retaliating shooting at Armenian armed men. Shooting from the woods ceased for some time. Alif started shouting at the women lying on the other side of the road and ordered them to cross the road as soon as possible. He used to shoot sporadically and every time he did the Armenians stopped shooting. About 20 women managed to run across the road. When Alif started to change the cartridge - drum Armenians shot in retaliation. At this moment he was shot through the forehead. It was an awful sight...

ELMAN MAMEDOV, head of the executive power:

...The storming of the town started with artillery shelling that had been going on for 2 hours. Armenian armed men fired from tanks, armed personnel carriers, using shells of 'Alazan' type. We were blocked from three sides. The only break out line was Askeran gap. When Armenian infantry soldiers launched the attack everything in Khodjaly had been destroyed. Most of its residents had been shot dead. We defended the town down in trenches till 2 a.m. We failed to resist any more, the defenders and civilians started retreating. Having crossed the ice-cold river we were moving towards Keteen mountain. A lot of people died on the way in the woods where they were frozen to death. We were walking until 7 a.m. when we came out of the woods near Armenian village of Nakhiche-vanik. We were trapped in a gorge, where Armenians armed with machine-guns and submachine guns were waiting for us in armed personnel carriers. That's when the real slaughter began. Armenians just shot d,nd shot innocent defenceless people. Many children and women were shot dead here. Some people were fleeing towards the village of Gulably where about 200 people were taken hostage. We helped the survivors and some of the residents of the town managed to get to Agdam. Seven of my friends with me failed to get out of the ambush, it was too late, but we got lucky; we found the cover from fire. We were hiding there from 9 a.m. till 8 p.m. And only in the evening when it started snowing we managed to get out of it and reach Agdam early in the morning of February 27.

SANUBAR ALEKPEROVA, the resident of Khodjaly

... Hasanabad, Mehdikend, Boz-dagy - these are the places they were shooting from. The land shuddered at the sound of armoured infantry vehicles smashing into Khodjaly. At first women and children were told to hide in the basements. Then Elman Mamedov, head of the executive power came and said that we had to escape, otherwise we would be exterminated. Alif Hadjiyev, director of the airport organized a breakthrough through Armenian lines to lead the civilians to Agdam. We were trapped in an ambush near the village of Nakhichevanik. I will never forget what I saw here: there were -mountainsides filled with corpses. My mother was shot dead. My daughters Hidjran and Sevindj were injured. At the same moment the bullet lodged on me. Young women and children perished from the wounds on the snow.
We had radio station with us. We cried, we tried to report what was happening , we begged for help, but nobody helped us.

JAMIL MAMEDOV, the resident of Khodjaly.

Tanks and armed personnel, carriers destroyed the houses, smashed down the people. Russian soldiers were followed by Armenian bandits. I took my 5-year-a!d grandson and 14.000 roubles and ran towards the woods. I took off my clothes and wrapped the child up in them so that he wouldn't die of cold. But it wouldn't help. We had to hide inside the snow with the child.
In the morning I realized that the child wouldn't stand the cold any more and I started walking towards the nearest armenian village of Nakhichevanik where we were trapped by Armenian armed men. I begged them to take my money for the sake of the child and let us pass to Agdam. They cursed and beat me in response and brought me to their commander. He ordered to keep us locked up in the cattle-shed. There had already been Azerbaijani women and children. They kept us in the cattle-shed for 4 days without any food or water. But for one kind family that used to stealthily bring us some bread and water at night we could have died, we wouldn't have been able to stand allV these tortures. But there is no limit to anger. When four days later I was brought to Askeran with my grandson the events I saw h^re were so awful that cattle-shed in Nakhichevanik seemed paradise to me. Foreign mercenaries (I know Armenian and I can tell local Armenian people from foreign ones) pulled out my toe-nails. Negroes who were among Armenians were jumping high kicking me into the face. After these tortures I was exchanged for some Armenian. However they took away my grandson. I know nothing about the fate of my wife and my daughter.

TALYBOVA, the resident of Khodjaly.

...They brought us to the Armenian cemetery. It is hard for me to describe what happened here. Four young Turks-meskhets (they fled from Uzbekistan and took shelter in Azerbaijan - Editor's Commentary) were shot dead on the grave of an Armenian armed man to sacrifice for him. Then they cut off the dead men's heads. Later the soldiers and Armenian bandits started killing and torturing the children in front of their parents. Then the truck arrived and it threw the corpses into the ravine. But they didn't satisfy their appetites yet, these predators with human appearance brought two Azerbaijanis wearing national army uniform and pierced their eyes with screwdrivers...

DJANAN ORUDJEV, the resident of Khodjaly.

...We tried to break through the woods to Agdam, but we were fired by sporadic shooting by armed soldiers near the village of Nakhiche-vanik.A lot of women and children were shot dead. My son was killed. He was 16 years old. They took away my daughter, 23, with her twin-babies and my second 18-year-old daughter who was pregnant. I beg you to rescue them,..

KHANLAR HADJIYEV, the head of medical service of Azerbaijan Defence ministry.

It was here that one could see the real side of this cruel and meaningless war. The soldier with his intestines out by fragments of the grenade, frozen to death fleeing women, a three-year old child with his bandaged stump of amputated leg. He had been shot by the heavy machine gun. The girl with her face carved by knife... ...Even our people in Baku couldn't suspect what was going on here. Our medical train was sent to the scene because local doctors were unable to treat so many injured people. All the doctors were volunteers. They were prepared for everything, but what they saw shocked them.
...There are a lot of people frozen to death. They are, as a rule, the fleeing Khodjaly residents escap- ing to the woods and hostages who returned from captivity. I saw the way some people were returning from captivity, bare-footed with frozen feet that lost their sensitivity. Many people after being released had to be operated and their feet had to be amputated

Khojaly

Since autumn of 1991 Khojaly has been practically blocked by Armenian armed formations and after withdrawal of internal troops from Nagorno Karabakh, full blockade of Khojaly was imposed. Beginning from January, 1992 electrical energy transfer to Khojaly was stopped. Part of inhabitants left blocked city, however, despite insistent requests of head of executive power of Khojaly city E.Mamedov, total evacuation of peaceful population was not organized.
On February, 25 Armenian armed formations began assault of Khojaly.
Participants of assault

Units of Artsakh National Liberation Army participated in the assault using armored equipment - armored troop-carriers, combat infantry cars and tanks.
Course of assault

Artillery firing of Khojaly began about 11 p.m. on February, 25. Barracks located in housing estate and outposts were destroyed first of all. Entering of infantry units into the city took place from 1 a.m. till 4 a.m. in the morning on February,26.
The last resistance was broken by 7 a.m. in the morning.
As a result of firing of the city unknown number of peaceful inhabitants was killed on the territory of Khojaly during the assault.
The free corridor for population leaving

60 people fled from Khojaly during the city assault were questioned by Memorial observers in Aghdam and Baku. Only one man of all questioned people said that he knew about existence of free corridor. These refugees proceeded along the free corridor situated on the territory adjoined to Aghdam district of Azerbaijan were fired, that resulted in death of many people.
Fate of the inhabitants who stayed in the city

After the occupation of the city by Armenian armed formations about 300 peaceful inhabitants including 86 Turks-Meskhets were in the city. According to information received from both sides over 700 captive inhabitants of Khojaly took as hostages in the city and on the way to Aghdam were passed to Azerbaijani side by March, 23 1992. Among them were mainly women and children.
Fate of property of Khojaly inhabitants

Inhabitants of Khojaly who could fled had no possibility to take with them even the most necessary part of their property. The inhabitants who were taken as captives by members of Armenian armed formations also had no possibility to take the part of their property.
Observers from Memorial Human Rights Watch Center became witnesses of active unlimited marauding in the occupied city. The property left by Khojaly inhabitants got out from the city by inhabitants of Khankendi (Stepanakert) and neighbouring settlements. The names of new owners were written on the gates of the most of houses.
Estimation of findings

Mass violence against peaceful population of Khojaly city took place during implementation the of military operation on the occupation of the city. The majority of Khodjali inhabitants were not informed about existence of the free corridor. Mass murders of peaceful inhabitants in the zone of the free corridor and adjacent territory can not be justified by any circumstances. Servicemen of infantry guards regiment No 366 belonged to Commonwealth of Independent States troops have participated in Khojaly assault.
"Memorial" Human Rights Watch Center establishes that actions of Armenian armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh towards Khojaly peaceful inhabitants during the assault of Khojaly city roughly violate Geneva conventions as well as the following articles of Human Rights Declaration (adopted by UN General Assembly on December, 10 1948):

Article 2, declaring that every person must have all rights and all freedoms, declared by this declaration without any distinction oflanguage, religion, nationalorigin,  or any other position;
Article 3, admitting rights of every person to life, freedom and personal immunity;
Article 5, forbidding brutal, inhuman or humiliate treatment of person;
Article 9, forbidding arbitrary arrests, detention or expatriation;
Article 17, declaring right of every person to have property and forbidding to deprive arbitrary the person of his property.
Actions of armed formations roughly violated Declaration on protection of women and children in emergency and during armed conflicts (declared by UN General Assembly on December, 14 1974)".
